“The Air Force on Tuesday confirmed a report that in 1994 a military researcher requested $7.5 million to develop a non-lethal "love bomb" that would chemically alter the state of mind of enemy troops and make them want to have sex with each other rather than fight”. In 2007, this story broke on Fox News. This was a tactic proposed to end bloodshed in war on the basis of psychological arrangement. Alexis Jones has the head reporter and creator of Info Wars; a news broadcasting website, has published a rant of the U.S. Air Force sending of a ‘Gay Bomb’ in the 2007 Iraq war. This Bomb was supposed to once it was released into the air turn the enemy of the Americans who they were fighting gay. “The goal was to create a non-lethal weapon to be used against enemy troops” – Lt. Col. Cathy Reardon. According to the fox news Article it was denied. However, Jones claims that this bomb has already been released into the atmosphere of America already. Jones has come up with this whole phenomenon solely because of a military proposition that was terminated in 1994. This is where the fake news come into play. Alexis Jones has been known to be a ‘Extreme Conservative’ and the someone who calls himself a Jesus worshiper who criticizes and goes against the Bible himself. Getting back to the story. Jones has made the claim that U.S. government is responsible for the excessive amounts of homosexual people today in America. He doesn’t say when the ‘Gay Bomb’ was ever released but he explains how. Jones states “What do you think tap water is? It’s a gay bomb baby” he goes on to say people might have homosexual feelings but it’s the chemical in the water that sets them over the top. I political Fact checked this story and nothing remotely true came out about his theory. I knew this was fake news for 2 other reasons besides fact checking this story he claims the water is turning the frog’s gay as well. So, in one article he claims Americans tap water is laced with a chemical that makes you gay, but also it turns frogs gay. He has no proof of these claims just simply a Wikipedia article which he I could edit If I wanted to. Wikipedia has at best been only proven to be 70-80 % accurate which tells me Jones belief was extremely opinionated and very bias. It’s extremely eye opening that he gets things off the Internet and people believe him.  Regarding criticism, he would fall under cluster criticism as he associates claim after claim with one another.

  1. Wow... I'd not heard of this particular conspiracy theory. Alex Jones is one of the most outrageous talk show hosts operating in the market today. His particular brand of right-wing ranting makes Rush Limbaugh look more like Rachel Maddow. The famous conspiracy theory regarding "chem trails" being released by aircraft all over the world is similarly focused upon the dissemination of some sort of gender-influencing chemical - which is then proposed as the explanation of the recent transgender movement.

I think looking at Mr. Jones, and perhaps the world of extreme conspiracy-theory talk radio, could make for a very interesting project. Perhaps the "Love Bomb" thing could become an example of this individual's communicative style. But this sort of artifact might best be analyzed by focusing on the sort of people who react to such extreme messages. The nature of these conspiracy theories is pretty outrageous - enough to make you wonder about what sort of audience member would respond to them.

Interesting start here. Please let me know how I can help.

    1. Yeah i find Alex Jones to be a very interesting individual, for lack off better words however he's very delusional about his ideals. I mean just from my general understanding of homosexuality and taking sexualities in communication. My interpretation is that homosexuality was once considered a psychological disorder however was once abandoned and is simply a born and adopted life choice by all. Many claim that they knew they were gay their whole life for those who come out later in life. There has been no form of proof of this gayness being released into the air at. Simply i don't believe you can chemically turn someone gay, especially being that there is no proof of that even with the once "chemical unbalance" associates with being gay. I think I'm leaning toward Jones's theory and trumps lies. Could we meet up next week to speak on the love bomb being my project?
